(May 31, 2007 – Boise, ID) This summer the Downtown Boise Alive After Five Summer Concert Series, Presented by PacificSource Health Plans (a new Downtown Boise business), celebrates 21 years of providing Boise with fun and music. The event takes place on the Grove Plaza downtown Boise, every Wednesday, 5 to 8pm from June 6th through September 26th. This free Summer Concert Series is a community favorite in downtown Boise and kicks off June 6th.
The DBA is excited to offer an exciting new line up of bands on the Kokanee Stage for this season and include:
June 6: Will Bernard: Jazz/Groove
June 13: Patrick Sweany: Blues
June 20: Albino: 12-piece Afrobeat (horns, percussion, etc)
June 27: Moses Guest: "A Texas-based, Southern Rock band that has just enough Pop, Jazz, Funk, and Country"
July 11: The Motet: 'Fusing instrumental, indie-rock, and electronically textured improvisation"
July 18: Wayne Hancock: "Original blend of honky tonk, western swing, blues and big band that he calls "juke joint swing!"
July 25: Anne McCue: Australian singer/songwriter, rock (not too heavy, not too light, just real)
August 1: Intervision: A sophisticated assemblage of jazz & soul-infused rock
August 8: Dale Watson: Country (honed at Johnny's Cash's Tennessee mountain cabin!)
August 15: Freekbass: Funk
August 22: Sol Jibe: Sound comprised of acoustic rock, flamenco, and world-influenced rhythms
August 29: The Gourds: "A saucepan of slow roasts, they have conjured tempo's, tango's, waltzes, zydeco, old timey, and two step"
September 5: Greencards: Bluegrass
September 12: Scott Miller & the Commonwealth: Americana alt-country
September 19: Eilen Jewel: classic country/folk/swing (she's a Boise native!)
September 26: Final act to be announced: It's a surprise collaboration to celebrate the Record Exchange's 30th Anniversary!

The event is organized by the Downtown Boise Association (DBA) and is a fundraiser for downtown cleaning services, beautification projects and marketing. The Downtown Boise Association mission is to be the steward for the promotion and operation of downtown Boise as an attractive, safe and vibrant place to work, shop, live and play. Alive After Five is a downtown marquee event that attracts thousands to downtown throughout the summer.
