The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in our community.The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens. Throughout the year the Idaho Foodbank collects handcrafted and handpainted bowls from professional and amateur artisans, students, and studios.  The event offers participants the opportunity to select a unique bowl from thousands and then enjoy a hot bowl of soup generously donated by several of our finest local restaurants. While guests enjoy their meal, they are encouraged to remember that not all our Idaho neighbors are able to meet the basic need of feeding their families, so financial support from the event helps to provide free emergency food to those in need.

Self-guided walking tour for the community to be able to look at the Christmas decorations, hear special music and view the various architectural styles of the churches. What makes this event special is that all the churches are within walking distance of each other. The Church Walk will conclude with a Christmas Music Sing from 5:30-6:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church at 950 State St. The event is free and open to the public and the Walk can begin at any of the churches.
